Thank You For Your Calls - Reid Includes the Public Option with an Opt-Out

Thank you so much for your calls to Harry Reid's constituents in Nevada. Our champion caller is an East Bay physician who, with his wife, made 175 calls over the weekend! Of course, he was one of the original Feinstein 1200!

All that hard work has paid off. Senator Harry Reid today announced that the Senate health care bill will include a public option with an opt-out.

So can we stop calling?

I just heard back from Marta Evry at veniceforchange.com who counsels that we should not become complacent. The bill isn't yet up for a vote. Alas, we'll have to keep the pressure - and the calls - going.

But for the moment, take a breather to appreciate what you've done, and to recharge for more activity.
